Interdisciplinary Expertise in Schools

In collaboration with pre-service teacher educators, we will translate the ARC DP findings into a framework that articulates the main components of teacher expertise for interdisciplinary teaching. Together with teacher educators, we will co-create a collection of reusable design resources for embedding the development of teacher interdisciplinary expertise in pre-service teacher education and in-service professional development.  

The outcomes of the project will fill in an important gap in the existing research on teacher expertise for integrative cross-curricular teaching and will provide the foundation for further research on teacher expertise for preparing students for a changing—saturated with knowledge technologies and distributed between humans and computers—knowledge work.
