Focus
Our project team invites you to submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) to join our next project phase. The focus is to co-create a set of reusable resources for integrating the development of interdisciplinary expertise across formal and informal pre-service and in-service teacher education contexts.
Background
Informing this next phase is an ecological framework for interdisciplinary professional learning. We hope that this framework will be used as a compass that helps navigate the diversity of interdisciplinary teachers’ education purposes and approaches and integrate theory and research in practice.
To date, the project team has worked with diverse education stakeholders to co-create this initial framework across a range of knowledge translation activities including: a scoping literature review; consultations with the project reference group; interview-consultations with teacher educators, school leaders, pre-service and in-service teachers and other stakeholders; two online webinars; and a design workshop.
Task
Our project’s next knowledge translation activity will focus on the following task:
How could this ecological framework be used to develop a specific interdisciplinary professional learning case (a course, module, program, etc.)?
Examples of topics for possible cases include:
- STEM
- Sustainability
- Artificial Intelligence
- Indigenous knowledge systems
- Integrating the core content across an initial teacher education program
- Other ideas welcome!
What will it involve?
- Attend in an in-person workshop on University of Sydney campus
- Friday 23 February or Friday 8 March 2024
- Online follow-up activities (approximately 20 hours): March – May 2024
- Development & testing: April-May 2024
* Note: a small amount of funding is available for your participation across the workshop, follow-up, and testing activities.
EOI deadline: 25 January 2024
Please email Dr Teresa Swist teresa.swist@sydney.edu.au with the following details:
- Your availability to attend a whole day, in-person workshop at University of Sydney campus (either on 23 February or 8 March 2024).
- The specific interdisciplinary case you are interested in developing a resource for – and why (approximately 150 words).
